This 2005 raw pu erh cake was made by Yongde Shuang Xiong tea factory. I believed this factory had closed down. I named this tea as my 2023 tea of the year.

There are many things I like about this tea. This tea brews strong. Initial aroma is like an old book like you are in an antique shop. There is also a woody scent like a whiskey that was stored in an oak barrel. Tea is smooth and rounded. With almost 20 years of storage in Malaysia, this tea is still strong but has a mellowness and roundness in the tea. A strong complex tea and yet there is a soft and gentle side to the tea.
